New page

Some of my favourite shows, movies, books, etc have involved gods in various forms, however I've never really had a ton of interest in working with them. I've always found the idea of a more fundamental source of things like magic, creation, etc to be more interesting to design and develop, since it's generally a lot more technical, which I enjoy. However, that doesn't mean I haven't had any idea for god-related stories/settings. So that's what this project is for. And here's a starting idea for a series of different levels of these gods.

* Multiple tiers of gods, ranging from simple superhuman, all the way to Lovecraftian style cosmic beings.
* The Origin Gods are a set of gods that predate known reality, and are responsible for its creation. They continue to exist outside of our reality.
* The Caretaker Gods are just below The Origin Gods. They exist within our reality, and sorta “manage” the multiverse. (maybe they're the same of The Origin Gods, but just a group of them who chose live inside)
* The Universals are they gods that created the individual universes within the multiverse.
* The Old Gods are the children of The Universals. They treated the universes like their sandboxes and built everything within them.
* The Young Gods are the children of The Old Gods. They are the highest tier of gods who actually interact with the world in any meaningful way, or a somewhat regular basis.
* The Worldly Gods are the gods who interact with the worlds regularly, but typically only on one particular planet, or one particular part of space. (maybe one galaxy, one galactic cluster, or even as small as one country) These gods are where actual rules for their ability begin to make sense.
* The Lesser Gods are the next tier down. They are powerful enough to destroy entire nations, or raise them up, but they're a far jump down from The Worldly Gods.
* The Under Gods are the lowest tier of gods. They are really more superhuman than god, but they are descendants of The Lesser Gods.
* The Ascended Gods are mortal beings who became powerful enough that they are considered to have ascended to godhood.

These descriptions are definitely subject to major changes, but I think for now, this is a fairly comprehensive listing, and it'll give me a lot of room to play with.
