The monarch acts as a president (head of state) and the elected official acts has prime minister (head of government). The monarch also acts the the head of the judiciary. They oversee the courts, appoint judges and are the supreme decider in the case of contested verdicts.<br />

The elected official is the only one who can approve major military action, however once approved, the monarch is the one in actual command of the military. Once a military action has been approved, it can only be ceased by the monarch, or a four fifths vote of parliament to overrule the monarch.<br />
