Matrellis is partially covered by the arctic circle. The majority of the continent is a frigid tundra. The northernmost portions are near exclusively populated by the Eldarani. Their within their lands, there are numerous cities where magic keeps the weather temperate, despite the arctic climate just beyond the city limits.
Towards the south of the continent there a multiple mortal nations occupying the more moderate climate. They have regular trade with the Eldarani.
