Independant Republic, formerly the Principality of Renima, was settled by explorers from the Kingdom of Renimeen, one of the kingdoms of Kanapra which now makes up the Havenshum Union States. After the unification of Havenshum, the country was renamed to be named after the first high king, Cortez Havenshum. The North Cortez Republic renamed itself at the same time, leading to political strife between the two for a number of years.
