The United States of Old Ceden was borne of a tumultuous history. Originally, the kingdom of Ceden was among the most powerful empires in all of Haleon. It enjoyed a rapid expansion across four continents. However, the empire of Ceden fell nearly as quickly as it rose to prominence. While most of the foreign colonies were claimed by neighbouring nations, the homeland fell divided as the last emperor of Ceden was killed in conquest abroad. Leaving no heir apparent, a power vacuum broke the kingdom into a multitude of factions which quarrelled relentlessly. While few direct conflicts resulted, political subterfuge was rife and 37 distinct countries were formed once the dust had settled.
Nearly a century later, three politicians all came to the same conclusion and, unbeknownst to each other, travelled the states of former Ceden attempting to garner support and reunite the former great kingdom under a new republic. After each of them had garnered support from a number of the states, they become aware of the others' intentions which resulted in a more aggressive campaign from each of them. States chose sides and a war broke out. The war resulted in 3 new unions with borders defined in blood. When it became apparent that the war was not coming to an end, the three leaders met in secret, and engaged in a summit which lasted more than three weeks sequestered. Once a peace agreement was reached, a new nation, the United States of Old Ceden was founded.
