The Cosswalland Republic was established after a war on Ursalva split many of the larger nations which were once there. To avoid being wiped out entirely, the kingdom of Cosswal established a colony on a peninsula on Kanapra which is had purchased from Ceden prior to its dissolution. Eventually, the kingdom of Cosswal on Ursalva was taken over entirely, but by that time the entire ruling class had resettled on Kanapra, making the forming homeland the foreign colony.
