Hamatsii

From The Many Worlds Project

The Hamatsii have are especially suited for both hot, and dry, climates. They require little water, and have an extra bladder which stores excess water for when it is needed later. Hamatsii have a patterned skin, with dark spots and light between them. They are able to move warm blood to the edges of these spots, cooling their bodies. (fun fact: this is one way giraffes cool themselves, see: Giraffe Thermoregulation)

They live largely underground networks of caves, as well as in the sides of cliff faces. They do, however, also have many villages and cities built above ground.
