Draedunn

From The Many Worlds Project

While the coasts of this island are by and large lush, the heart of the continent is a hard desert.

Human settlements dot the coast of the continent, while the Hamatsii dominate the desert. The Hamatsii control extremely active trade routes through the desert, between the coastal Human nations.

There are one or two nations within the desert which are predominantly Human populated.

Palidae resides on the western-most coast of Draedunn.

The Continent

Geography

The continent is circled by a series of large mountain ranges, which cut off the coastal nations from those near the center of the continent. These ranges also form a dividing line between the temperate, or even lush lands near the water, and the harsh desert contained within.

The desert of Draedunn in some areas experiences daily average temperatures as high as 60° C. In other areas, however, it is much more hospitable.

People

Species

Draedunn is the birthplace of the Hamatsii. They are the primary occupants of the continent's harsh deserts, and are especially adapted to survive and thrive within its extreme climate.

Large populations of humans also reside on Draedunn, however hey primarily live outside of the mountain ranges which contain the desert.

Populations

Draedunn by far contains the most independent nations. A long series of primarily human populated nations lines the space between the coasts and the mountain ranges.

Within the mountains, a vast collection of smaller nations span the desert. The desert nations which span the space between gaps in the mountains form vital trade route across the continent.
